The office

Season 2 - Episode 6

The Fight

Dwight : Where is my desk ?

Jim : That is weird.

Dwight : This is not funny, this is totally unprofessional.

Jim : Okay, well, you're the one who lost the desk.

Dwight : I didn't lose my desk

Jim : Okay, calm down. Where was the last place you saw it?

Dwight : Okay, who moved my desk?

Jim : I think you should retrace your steps.

Dwight : Okay, I am going to tell Michael. And this entire office will be punished.

Jim : Colder. Warmer. Little warmer. (살짝 따뜻하다) There you go, ooh, warmer. 아 따뜻해) Warmer. Warmer, warmer! Warmer, cold, cold! Cold! Back up! Ooh, ooh, warmer. Hot, red hot. Hot. Very hot.

Dwight : Dwight Schrute.

Jim : Hi Dwight! What sort of discounts are we giving on the 20 pound white bond? (20

Dwight : Jim, I've given you this information like 20 times.

Jim : I know.

Dwight : It's by the ream? (480

Jim : Uh, yeah.

Dwight : It is now 9.78. So it's a discount of 7%.

Jim : Okay thank you, I got to get back to work.

Dwight : Wash your hands Kevin.

---------------------------------------

Jim : Right. Oh, well, let me just check the pricing list. (.

Dwight : Sensei... (스승님) Hello, it's sempai. Dwight.

Jim : You know what, let me give you a call right back. (잠시 후에 다시 전화드리죠) I'm going to find it and then I'll call you back. Thanks.

Dwight : Yes, I just had a ques... Yes, sensei. , 스승님) Arigato goazai mashta. Hai. !)

Jim : Was that you mom?

Dwight : No. That was my sensei.

Jim : Thought it was your mom.

Dwight : I am now sempai, (이제 난 선배라네) which is assistant sensei.

Jim : Assistant to the sensei, that's pretty cool.

Dwight : Assistant sensei.

Jim : Okay.

---------------------------------------

Dwight : I am a practitioner of Goju-Ryu ka-ra-te, here in Scranton.

---------------------------------------

? : Hai! 2! Hai! Dwight, stamp and kick back. (Dwight,

---------------------------------------

Dwight : My sensei, Ira, recently promoted me to purple belt. (제 스승님 Ira께서 최근에 보라색띠로 승급시켜주시고) And gave me duties of a sempai. Not that a lot of people here in America know what a sempai is. But it's equally as respected as a sensei.

---------------------------------------

Stanley : I don't want to stay until 7:00 again this year.

Pam : I don't really have any control over that, Stanley.

---------------------------------------

Pam : Michael tends to procrastinate... a bit whenever he has to do work. (지점장님은 무슨 일이든지 조금씩 미루는 경향이 있어요) Time cards. He has to sign these every Friday. (근무시간 기록표에는 매주 금요일에 서명을 해야하고) Purchase orders have to be approved at the end of every month. And expense reports. (지출 보고서도요) All he has to do is initial these, at the end of every quarter. (지점장님이 하실 일은 매 분기마다 여기 서명을 하는게 전부인데) But once a year, it all falls on the same Friday. (매년 같은 금요일이 되면 발등에 불이 떨어지죠) And that's today. I call it the perfect storm.

---------------------------------------

Micheal : "I don't want to work," "I just want to bang on this mug all day."

Ryan : Did you ask me here for any specific reason?

Micheal : Ah, yes, I did. Here's the bizzle. (일이 있지I have a very top secret mission for you. (극비 임무를 하나 맡기려고 해) I want you to update all the emergency contact information.

Ryan : Why is that secret? Hello. Oh, God

Micheal : Busy work. Ah, get away, get away. Cretin.

Pam : I put stickers so you know where to sign.

Micheal : Yes, thanks, I know where to sign.

Pam : It's just that last year, you..

Micheal : Last year, they were out of order, weren't they, Pam.

Pam : Well, the last pickup for overnight deliveries is at 7:00. (익일배송은 저녁 7시에 마지막으로 수거하거든요) So you need to have them signed by then. Or much earlier.

Micheal : Shalax, Pam. Stop Pam-MSing. (진정해, Pam. That's pretty good. (기발했지) Actually, I'm sending Ryan on a top secret mission. Tell her what it is.

Ryan : Updating emergency contacts?

Pam : Well, is that really a priority?

Micheal : Is it a priority? Oh, I don't know. What if there's a tornado, Pam? (만약 폭풍이 분다면) People's legs are crushed under rubble. (파편에 깔려 다리가 부러지고 있는 사람들이) Please, would you be so kind as to call my wife ? No I can't. 못하잖아) Because we don't have any emergency contact information. Because Pam said it wasn't a priority. Think with your head Pam. (머리를 쓰라고 Pam) Okay, well, she walks out. (좋아, 나가버렸군) That's the problem with being a boss, is that when you are tough, (상사라는 건 이래서 문제야, 강하게 나가면) they resent you, (분개하고) and when you are cool, they walk all over you.

Ryan : Catch-22.

Micheal : Catch-22, yes. Why don't you give me your contact information to start with? Okay? What's your cell?

---------------------------------------

Jim : Larissa Halpert.

Ryan : What's her address?

Jim : 117 Vonburgen Street.

Ryan : Hello.

Micheal : Hey Ryan. This is Michael Jackson, calling from Wonderland.

Ryan : You mean Neverland?

Micheal : This is Tito.

Ryan : What?

Micheal : Calling from...

---------------------------------------

Pam : Your major and minor lines cross at a ridge. (뚜렷한 선하고 희미한 선이 두툼한 곳에서 교차하잖아) That sucks.

Jim : You're making this up as you go along, aren't you?

Pam : I am just following the web site.

Jim : Well, at least I don't have cavities.

Pam : Yes, you have very nice teeth.

Jim : Thanks

---------------------------------------

Ryan : Who's your emergency contact?

Kevin : Stacey.

Micheal : Pick up.

Ryan : Hello?

Micheal : This is Mike Tyson.

Jim : Hey, Dwight. As sempai, do you ever think there's gonna be a day, where humans and robots can peacefully coexist?

Dwight : Impossible. The way they're programmed... You're mocking me.

Jim : No, I'm not.

Dwight : Well, let me offer you a little piece of advice. (너한테 충고 하나 하지) I am not afraid, to make an example out of you.

Jim : That's not advice. What advice sounds like is this. 충고는 이런거야) Don't ever bring your purple belt to work, because someone might... steal it.

Dwight : Okay, give that back to me.

Jim : Okay, say please.

Dwight : No, that is not a toy.

Jim : Please.

Dwight : Please?

Jim : Good. And it absolutely is a toy.

Dwight : Arigato. This is not a toy. This is a message, for the entire office. (이 사무실 사람들에게 알리는 메시지라고) So that everyone could see that I am capable of physically dominating them.

---------------------------------------

Micheal : And this is more of a ying yang thing. (이건 좀 더 음양이 어우러지네요) The Michael is all cursive, Scott all caps. (Michael은 필기체로 쓰고, Scott은 대문자로 쓰고) Left brain, right brain. Or duality of man.

Pam : Could you practice on the forms?

---------------------------------------

Dwight  : No women or children, unless provoked.

Jim : Okay, Roy. (좋아, Roy)

Dwight : Warehouse guy. Doesn't count.

Jim : Okay Michael. Could you beat up Michael?

Micheal : Yeah, I don't think that would happen.

Dwight : Cause we're friends.

Micheal : Because I would kick his ass.

Jim : Well, Dwight's a purple belt. So...

Micheal : So ? I've beat up black belts. Yeah.

Jim : How'd you know they were black belts?

Micheal : They told me, after. See, I used to run with a very tough crowd, street fighter types. Real, real bad people. I'm just lucky I got out.

---------------------------------------

Ryan : Is your wife still your contact?

Tobby : Ex-wife, yeah. 그래) Her last name is Becker now.

Ryan : Okay.

Tobby : You don't need to write ex. (‘

---------------------------------------

Micheal : And after that, nobody ever messed with the damn rascals ever again.

Jim : Sounds tough. (험악한 이야기군요) When you're a jet, your're a jet all the way, right? You're a jet?

Angela : Have you signed the expense reports yet?

Micheal  : Yes, in theory I have. (이론상으로는 다 했어) I just need to cross some Ts and dot some Is. I am going to be in my office if anybody needs me.

Dwight : Oh Michael!

Micheal : Sleeper hold. Bedtime for vato.

Dwight : Stop it.

Micheal : You are, the weakest link!

---------------------------------------

Micheal : I'm friends with everybody in this office. We're all best friends I love everybody here. But sometimes your best friends, start coming in to work late and, start having dentist appointments that aren't dentist appointments. And that is when it's nice to let them know that you could beat them up.

---------------------------------------

Micheal : Just hit me. You'll see.

Jim : I can't, cause I just got a manicure. So...

Micheal : Oh, queer! Eye, Queer Eye. That's a good show. Important show. Go ahead, do it.

Jim : Just have Dwight punch you.

Micheal : Oh, yeah Well, that would be kind of worthless, (쓸데없는 일이잖나) because I know a ton of 14 years old girls who could kick his ass.

Jim : You know a ton of 14-year-old girls?

Dwight : What belt are they?

Micheal : Look, Dwight is a wuss. (이봐, Dwight는 기집애같아) When we rented Armageddon...

Dwight : No...

Micheal : he cried at the end of it. (영화 끝날 때 울더라니까) He did.

Dwight : Michael, I told you... That was because it was New Year's Eve, (새해 전날 밤 정확히 자정에 눈이 와서 그런거에요) and it started to snow at exactly midnight.

Micheal : "Oh, Bruce Willis, they're going to leave him on the asteroid." (Bruce Willis

Dwight : Okay I'll punch you.

Micheal : Okay, here we go. (이제 하시는군) Alright, come on.

---------------------------------------

Dwight : Did I want to harm Michael, the one man I've been hired to protect? No, I did not.

---------------------------------------

Jim : Are you okay?

Micheal : Yes.

Jim : Are you sure you're all right?

Micheal : Yeah. Yeah. Thank you.

---------------------------------------

Dwight : I come from a long line of fighters. (전 무사 가문의 사람입니다) My maternal grandfather, was the toughest guy I ever knew. World War II veteran. Killed 20 men, then spent the rest of the war in an allied prison camp. (20명을 죽이신 다음엔 연합군 수감소에서 복무하셨죠) My father battled blood pressure and obesity all his life. (제 아버지는 평생을 고혈압과 비만에 맞서 싸우셨습니다) Different kind of fight.

---------------------------------------

Jim : Okay, he has to be stopped. (말려야겠어) Please, please, please, please, just ask Michael.

Pam : I don't know.

Dwight : Okay

Jim : Okay. I'll buy you a bag of chips.

Dwight : Why are you twisting around?

Pam : French onion?

Jim : Obviously.

Dwight : Kevin, why are you spinning around? (Kevin,

Pam : Okay.

Jim : Yes.

Dwight : Take this pen, okay. (이 펜을 뺏어보세요) And stab me with it.

Micheal : Go away.

Pam : I just have a quick question. (간단한 질문이 있는데요) I haven't signed them, okay ?

Pam : No, it's not that. I was just wondering, since I'm probably going to have to stay late could you ask Dwight to stay late too, so he can walk me to my car?

Jim : Nice.

Micheal : Come in. Pam, I hate to break this to you, but Dwight can't stop you from being mugged. He's just not tough enough.

Pam : He's a purple belt. That's really high.

Micheal : I could beat up Dwight. That's ridiculous. (우스운 일이야) I can murder him.

Pam : It's just that out there, you..

Micheal : Oh, is that what they're saying?

Pam : Yeah, kind of. (, ...)

Micheal : Okay. Alright. Where's Dwight?

Jim : Kitchen.

Micheal : Okay.

Dwight : Try it again. Here we go. Good.

Kelly : It way actually pretty good, right?

Dwight : Excellent. Now watch. Let me take you from behind.

Micheal : Watch out Kelly, might sucker punch you.

Dwight : I didn't sucker punch you Michael.

Micheal : No, really? (,

Dwight : In case you didn't remember, I was defending my honor. (기억이 안나시나본데요, 전 제 명예를 지킨겁니다) Like samoura?

Micheal : Really, oh, is that it? Well, the offer, Dwight, was for one punch, (글쎄, Dwight, 펀치 한방만 날리는 거였잖아) which I absorbed. (그건 내가 흡수해버렸고) I had no idea that there'd be a second punch. So, catch-22.

Dwight : Okay, fine, tit for tit. (좋아요, 이에는 이) Give it your best shot, two punches, go.

Micheal : Look, if we were in a bar, right now, there would be two punches. (이봐, 여기가 술집이었으면 당장 펀치 두 방을 날렸겠지) Me punching you and you hitting the floor.

Dwight : No, I'd block your first punch, rending ineffective.

Micheal : Really

Dwight : Yeah

Micheal : You know what, you're just lucky that we're at work right now.

Jim : What about, Dwight's dojo? (Dwight

Micheal : No, they just have classes.

Dwight : It's free during the day, it's fine.

Micheal : Look!

Dwight : I've got the key.

Tobby : Hey, Michael!

Micheal : Hey, Tobby.

Tobby : Any word on those...

Micheal : You know what ? I have an idea, why don't you just leave right now? (이봐, 나한테 생각이 있는데, 지금 당장 그냥 나가는게 어떤가) Why don't you walk away from the room, okay?

Tobby : Fine.

Micheal : We'll go at lunch. Pam, make an announcement. (Pam, 사람들한테 알려) Figure out carpools.

---------------------------------------

---------------------------------------

Jim : Well, we're all getting excited to see this fight The Albany branch is working right through lunch to prevent downsizing. (Albany 지점은 인원감축 때문에 점심도 거르고 일하는데) But Michael, he decided to extend our lunch by an hour... so that we could all go down to the dojo and watch him fight Dwight. Fight, Fight, fight, fight, fight, fight, fight, I'm coming, fight.

---------------------------------------

Jim : Sorry.

---------------------------------------

Micheal : I recognize that. That is Japanese for California roll.

? : No it's not.

Micheal : I think it is, a guy told me about that.

? : Actually, it's a symbol for eternal discipline.

Jim : Wow, that is really interesting.

Pam : What?

Jim : Your love line... I'm just kidding, I can't see anything.

Pam : Look closer. Oh-kay. One point for me.

Jim : Tied up.

Pam : Oh you're dead

Jim : What? What are you going to do? Bring it Beesly. Bring it. Ooh, yeah. Good move. Ooh, not such an ultimate fighter now, huh?

Pam : Hey, put me down. Put me down! Oh my God. Hey, put me down. H ey.

? : Okay, gentlemen, listen up. After a clean strike to the chest, stomach, or kidneys, I will separate you and award a point. First person to three wins, alright?

Dwight : Yes, sensei!

Micheal : Lot of rules. Lot of rules. On the street, we didn't have any rules. Maybe one, no kicks to the groin, home for dinner.

? : Hajime!

Micheal : What the hell was that?

? : Dwight.

Dwight : Yes.

Micheal : No way.

? : One point.

Micheal : Okay.

Dwight : Eat it!

Micheal : Alright That's the way you want to do it?

Dwight : Two more.

Micheal : You want to play dirty, huh? Okay, game on, man.

Kevin : Sweep the leg.

Micheal : I'm coming at you, man. (내가 간다) Ha ! Okay, purple belt. Okay, I got it.

? : No.

Micheal : I got his pants.

Dwight : That was my pants.

? : No points for pants.

Micheal : Dwight, you have.. No, look. No, you have something.. You have something.. (Dwight, 자네 거기에 뭐 묻었어) God, you look like such an idiot.

? : Clean technique gentlemen.

Micheal : Come on. Do that again. Do that again. I dare you.

? : Okay, break. Break. No holding.

Micheal : Oh, you can't see? You can't see? One point. Two points. Three points.

? : I said break.

Micheal : How many points now? I win, I win.

Dwight : No, you didn't.

Micheal : Eight points, nine points.

Dwight : Stop it. No. Come on, Michael!

Micheal : Open your mouth.

Dwight : No, Michael !

---------------------------------------

Micheal : You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? Raging Bull, Pacino. (분노의 주먹, 알파치노) Oh, I want that footage. (이런 장면 연출하고 싶었어요) I want it. I need it. Oh, I have to get back to work. I have lots of work. Check this out, come here. (이거 보세요, 와보세요) There he is, Mr.Temp. (저기 있군요, 임시직 씨가) Having lunch by the car. (차 옆에서 점심을 먹고 있군요) Let us play with him. (장난쳐볼까요) See what we can learn. (뭐라고 하는지 봅시다) Oh, we're playing phone tag.

---------------------------------------

Ryan : Seven new messages. (7개의 신규 메시지가 있습니다) First new message. Hi, Ryan. This is Saddam Hussein. Next message. Hey Ryan, this is your girlfriend. And I'm mad.

---------------------------------------

Micheal : My emergency contact is Todd Packer. Todd F. Packer You know what the F stands for? (F

Ryan : Fudge?

Micheal : Yeah. Oh, come in. Oh, hey, Karate Kid. The Hillary Swank version. Hi, how are you ?

Dwight : I need to change my emergency contact information from Michael Scott.

Ryan : Okay, to what?

Dwight : Just put... The hospital. (그냥 병원으로) Contact number (전화번호는) Just put 911.

Micheal : He is such a sore loser. (정말 군소리 많다니까) You heard obviously, (물론 들었겠지) that I mopped the floor with him this afternoon. (오늘 오후에 내가 Dwight 가지고 바닥 청소한거) You know what, do yourself a favor. Just leave me as his contact. (저기, 자네가 호의를 베풀어서 Dwight 연락처에 내 이름 남겨놓게) And I will call the hospital. Cut out the middleman.

---------------------------------------

Kevin : Later Jim. (잘가 Jim)

Jim : Later Kev.

Jim : Have a good weekend.

Pam : Yeah, you too.

---------------------------------------

Micheal : Yeah.

Ryan : I have the emergency contacts.

Micheal : Just lay 'em on the chair. I'll take it from here. 여기서부터는 내가 처리할게) So what you up to this weekend?

Ryan : Hanging out with some friends probably.

Micheal : Well, if you do anything crazy, give me a shout.

Ryan : Yeah. Alright, I will, see you Monday.

Micheal : Alright. Bye. Dwight?

Angela: Michael, did you finish yet?

Micheal : This close. (이만큼 남았어) Dwight, may I speak with you for a minute.

Dwight : I'm busy. Micheal

Micheal : Well, busier. (그래, 난 더 바빠) But I'm making the time.

Stanley : Michael, can't your conversation wait till Monday?

Tobby : We want to go home.

Micheal : Well, You don't even have anybody to go home to, Tobby. So..

Pam : The shipping place closes in a half hour.

Micheal : I know. But I've been carrying the load on my back all day. (하지만 오늘 하루종일 일에 깔려있었잖아) And if everyone would just chip in a little bit, might help me out. (그러니 다들 조금씩 도와주면 도움이 될 거 같은데) What do you say? Let's gang bang this thing and go home.

---------------------------------------

Angela : This is illegal.

Stanley : I don't care.

---------------------------------------

Micheal : I have been testing you the entire day. (하루종일 자네를 시험하고 있었네) Did you know that?

Dwight : Of course.

Micheal : And I'm happy to say that you passed. (자네가 통과했다는 소식을 전하게 되어 기쁘군) So, effective immediately, I am promoting you, (즉시 효력을 발휘해서, 자네를 승진시키겠네) from assistant to the regional manager to assistant regional manager.

Dwight : Michael... I don't know.

Micheal : I, I know. I know. I know. I know. I wouldn't be offering it if I didn't think you could handle it.

Dwight : I can handle it, I can.

Micheal : I know. Okay.

Dwight : So I guess this'll just by my office.

Micheal : No. No. Title change only.

Dwight : I'll have Pam send out a memo. (Pam

Micheal : No, nope. Three month probationary period. (3개월 견습기간이야) Let's just not tell anybody about this right now.

Dwight : Just a formality?

Micheal : Absolutely. But not really.

Dwight : Michael. I have so much, to learn, from you.

Micheal : Yes you do.

Dwight : Thank you. Sensei.

Micheal : And, Ditto.

---------------------------------------

Micheal : I told Dwight that there is honor in losing. (Dwight한테 패배한 대가로 상을 주겠다고 했죠) Which as we all know is completely ridiculous. (다들 알다시피 전혀 말도 안되지만) But, there is, however, honor in making a loser feel better. (하지만, 패자의 기분을 풀어주는 것도 보상입니다) Which is what I just did for Dwight. (방금 Dwight한테 그렇게 해줬죠) Would I rather be feared or loved? Easy. Both. I want people to be afraid of how much they love me. 사람들이 저를 사랑하는 만큼 저를 겁내길 바랍니다) And I think I proved that today at the dojo.

---------------------------------------

Micheal : Typewriter torture.

Dwight : Sensei help!

? : No.

Micheal : Typewriter!
