Performance Review

Dwight : You should get one of these.

Jim : No, thank you.

Dwight : Do you even know what this is? It is a fitness orb. (피트니스 볼이야) And it has completely changed my life Forget everything you thought you knew about ab workouts.

Jim : Done.

Dwight : This ab workout is specifically designed, to strenghthen your core.

Jim : That's alright.

Dwight : Numerous health benefits. Strengthens your back. Better performance in sports. More enjoyable sex.

Jim : You are not having sex.

Dwight : Plus, improves your reflexes. (추가로, 반응능력도 향상시키지) See, I would've caught that.

Jim : Okay, you know what? How much is that?

Dwight : It's only 25 bucks.

Jim : Okay.

---------------------------------------

Micheal : Pam, could I see you in my office?

---------------------------------------

Pam : It's performance review day, company wide. 회사 전체가 해요) Last year, my performance review started with Michael asking me what my hopes and dreams were. And it ended with him telling me he could bench press 190 pounds. So I don't really know what to expect.

---------------------------------------

Micheal : Pam, you're trustworthy.

Pam : Thank you.

Micheal : And a woman.

Pam : Oh no.

Micheal : And I want you to listen to a voice mail from my boss.

Jan : Micheal, it's Jan. I guess I missed you. I'll, be there this afternoon for performance reviews. I hope it's understood, that will be our only topic of discussion. (근무평가 만이 우리의 유일한 대화라는걸 이해하고 있길 바래요) See you soon.

Micheal : First impressions?

Pam : Just off the top, (그냥 바로 말하자면) I think she'll be here this afternoon.

---------------------------------------

Micheal : My boss is coming in today. The lovely Jan Levinson-Gould. (사랑스러운 Jan) Well, no Gould. The Gould has been. Divorce The awkward part is that this is the first time, (어색한 것은 이번이 처음이라는 거죠) we'll be seeing each other since.. (그 때 이후로 서로를 다시 보게 되는 것이) Well... it was really nothing. We just sort of got caught up in the moment. The vulnerable devorcee, gives herself to the understanding with rugged good looks office manager. (마음 약한 이혼녀가 괘나 잘생긴 회사 매니저를 깨닫게 된거죠) Just, uh, she didn't want it to continue for some reason. We both didn't, I didn't want, we both didn't want it to continue. It was not professional. (프로답지 못했어요) hen people say it, something's mutual, it never is. 그건 결코 그런게 아니에요) But this was mutual.

---------------------------------------

Jan : I guess I missed you.

Micheal : I guess I missed you. So she misses me.

Pam : She missed you.

Micheal : But then she goes on to say, (하지만, 이후에 그녀가 이렇게 말했지) "That will be our only topic of our discussion." That doesn't mean anything. Those are just words.

Pam : I have one idea of what it means.

Micheal : Okay, yeah, what? What?

Pam : Well, I don't think you're going to be very happy with this.

Micheal : Oh great. Alright, well, now I'm in a terrible mood. (지금 난 끔찍한 무드에 빠졌어) Let's do your performance review.

Pam : Because she's conflicted. (왜냐면 Jan은 갈등하고 있으니까요) She has to be professional. But she's fighting feelings for you.

Micheal : Why, that's great news. (? 그거) then why would, why would I not like that?

Pam : Just cause that you work together. (같이 일을 하니까요) And it might be awkward.

Micheal : Wow, wow. Alright, let's listen to that again.

Jan : Michael, it's Jan. I guess I miss you.

---------------------------------------

Dwight : Listen, Jim. Here's a little tip for your performance review. Tell Micheal, that we should be stocking more of the double tabbed manilla file folders.

Jim : We don't have double tabbed manilla file folders.

Dwight : Oh yes we do.

Jim : No we don't.

Dwight : Yeah, it's a new product. So you should just suggest that to him. (그러니 점장님에게 제안만 하면 될거야) And then he'll be sure to give you a raise.

Jim : Well, I'm not asking for a raise. I'm gonna actually be asking for a pay decrease.

Dwight : That is so stupid. What if he gives it to you?

Jim : Then I win.

Dwight : You know what, I am going to zone you out for the rest of today. 오늘 남은 시간동안 너한테서 신경 끌거야) I need to stay focused. (집중해야하거든) And I don't have to see you tomorrow or Sunday. (그리고 내일이나 일요일에는 자네를 볼 필요가 없으니) please don't call me and we'll see how things go on Monday.

Jim : Wait, wait, one thing. (한가지만) By tomorrow, you mean Saturday, right?

---------------------------------------

Jim : Today is Thursday. But Dwight thinks that it's Friday. And that's what I'll be working on this afternoon.

---------------------------------------

Stanley : Sometimes women say more in their pauses than they say in their words.

Micheal : Really?

Stanley : Oh yes. Let's listen to it again. And this time, really listen to the pauses.

Micheal : Stanley, that's freakin' brilliant. (끝내주게 훌륭하군) How do you know that? Did you learn that on the streets? Sorry.

Stanley : Oh, it's okay. I did learn it on the streets. On the ghetto, in fact.

Micheal : No kidding.

---------------------------------------

Stanley : It's all about my bonus.

---------------------------------------

Pam : Michael and Jan definitely made out.

Jim : Oh !

Pam : Maybe more.

Jim : Also it is Thursday, but Dwight thinks it's Friday. So, keep that going.

Pam : Yay !

---------------------------------------

Micheal : Good work Stanley. Great performance review. For Stanley in the house everybody. (멋진 Stanley를 위해 모두들) Angela, it's your turn.

---------------------------------------

Angela : Actually look forward to performance review. I did the youth beauty pageant circuit. (미인대회에도 참가했었구요) And I enjoyed that quite a bit. (그리고 그걸 정말 상당히 즐겼어요) I really enjoy being judged. (평가 받는걸 정말 즐겨요) I believe I hold up very well to even severe scrutiny.

---------------------------------------

Pam : Michael.

Micheal : Yeah.

Pam : Jan's on the phone for you.

Micheal : Angela, you were totally satisfactory this year.

---------------------------------------

Micheal : Interesting, Jan is calling me. Maybe it wasn't so mutual after all.

Jan : Michael.

Micheal : Jan! To what do I owe this pleasure?

Jan : I am returning your many calls.

Micheal : Well, hello to you too. I was just... I just wanted to get some closure on what transpired between us, (난 그냥 좀 더 가까워지길 바랬어 우리 사이에 일어난 일에 대해서) At the meeting we had I in the parking lot of the Chili's.

Jan : No. No. We-we won't be discussing that, Michael. The only things I want to talk about during your performance review, are your concrete ideas to improve your branch.

Micheal : Well, surely this, because of what.. (왜 그러냐면..) happened, uh, at our meeting in the parking lot of the Chili's.

Jan : Review is anything but a formality, Michael. (근무평가는 공식적인 일 그 자체에요) And, uh, I expect you to forget anything that you think may, have happened between us and exhibit completely professional behavior.

Micheal : I'm thinking about you.

Jan : That is an example of completely unprofessional behavior.

Micheal : I don't see how that's unprofessional.

Jan : Michael.

Micheal : Yeah.

Jan : Are the cameras in there with you? In your office?

Micheal : No. They are not. Yes they are. That's my girlfriend.

---------------------------------------

Kevin : I heard they made out and had sex.

Oscar : I heard they just made out. That's it.

Kevin : Well, I heard they made out.. And had sex.

Angela : Don't talk about it. Office romances are nobody's business but the people involved.

Kevin : Romances ?

---------------------------------------

Micheal : Pam, I have ideas on a daily basis, I know I do. 그렇다고 믿고 있어) I have a clear memory of telling people my ideas. (직원들에게 내 아이디어를 말했던 분명한 기억이 있거든) is there any chance that you wrote any of my ideas down? in a folder, like an idea folder?

Pam : Sorry.

Micheal : How about the suggestion box? There's tons of ideas in there.

Pam : What suggestion box?

Micheal : The suggestion box that I put out. (내가 놔둔 제안함) And people could put in suggestions anonymously. Maybe there's prizes?

Pam : Oh yeah. Oh yeah. I think I remember that from back when I first started.

Micheal : Why don't you find it and then tell people to get theirs- (찾아주지 않겠어? 찾고나서 직원에게 제안하라고 말하는 거야) Never mind, I'll tell them. Hello, everybody. Yeah, ah, attention, please. Jan Levinson's coming very soon. And so we're going to have our weekly suggestion box meeting. (그래서 주간 제안 미팅을 가지려고해) So you can all get in your constructive compliments ASAP.

Ryan : Don't you mean constructive criticism?

Micheal : What did I say?

Kelly : You said constructive compliments. That doesn't make any sense.

Micheal : Well, Kelly. That was neither constructive nor a compliment. (Kelly, 그 말은 유용한 것도, 격찬도 아니야) maybe you should stop criticizing my English. (그러니 자네는 내 언어비판을 멈춰야 할거야) And start making some suggestions. Okay?

---------------------------------------

Jim : Dan, this is Jim, it is about 11:15. and I wanted to know what you were up to tomorrow, (내일 네가 뭐할지 알고 싶어) which is the 15th and that is a..

Dwight : Saturday.

Jim : Saturday, so just let me know what you're

doing tomorrow, Saturday, for lunch. (토요일 점심때) Okay, talk to you soon. (나중에 이야기하자) Okay, bye-bye.

---------------------------------------

Jan : Would you please tell Michael that I'm here.

Pam : Sure.

Micheal : Hi, Jan. How are you?

Jan : Hi Micheal, I'm good. How are you?

Micheal : Good to see you.

Jan : Nice to see you.

Micheal : Okay. Okay, why don't we just step into my off? We're to go in here.

Jan : Can we please go into your office ?

Micheal : Yep, right after you. Apres vous.

---------------------------------------

Micheal : I got...

Jan : Thank you.

Micheal : It's nice to see you.

Jan : Nice to see you too Michael.

Micheal : Really?

Jan : Not like that. (그런 뜻 아니에요) You know, Michael, I think I need to make something clear right off the top. I'm not going to discuss anything with you other than Dunder Mifflin business.

Micheal : Alright.

Jan : Period. ()

Micheal : Yep.

Jan : Do we understand each other?

Micheal : Absolutely.

---------------------------------------

Micheal : I'm a little confused because first it's all like kissey, kissey. 왜냐면, 처음에는 키스하고 싶었던거 같은데) And then it's like all regret. (이후에 모든게 후회스러워요) Because, oh, I regret that. But wait, I'm still going to call you. (하지만, 잠시후 난 당신한테 전화 걸고 있어요) But-but we're just going to talk business. And I may come down there and fire you if you don't do your job. (그쪽으로 가서, 당신이 당신 일을 하지 않는다면 해고할거에요) But what were we talking about when we first kissed? Business.

---------------------------------------

Jan : So are you still in the middle of performance reviews then?

Micheal : No, no, no. I finished all of that. I'm very fast. I'm not too fast.

Not like wham, (자기만 만족하고 빨리 끝내는 남자는 아니야) bam, thank you, ma'am. But I do say thank you, ma'am. But I'm not like, wham, bam. Not that there's anything wrong with wham, bam. (빨리 관계를 끝내는 것이 잘못된 것은 아니야) If it's consensual. (합의하에 이루어진 거라면 말이지) We're talking about office stuff. Can I ask you a question?

Jan : No.

Micheal : This is a business question. It is nothing personal, I promise.

Jan : Fine.

Micheal : Are you wearing a new perfume today?

Jan : How is that a business question?

Micheal : Well, you're wearing it at the office. (, 당신이 사무실에서 향기를 뿜어내고 있잖아) And... it, I'm sorry, no offense, but it's really sexy.

Jan : Please don't smell me Michael.

---------------------------------------

Pam : Hey Jim.

Jim : Hey, how's it going?

Pam : Oh, my God, did you see The Apprentice last night? (어제 Apprentice 봤어?)

Jim : Of course, it's on every Thursday night. So how can I miss it?

Pam : Can you believe who Trump fired?

Jim : No, that was unbelievable.

Dwight : Who? Who was it? Who did he fire?

Pam : You didn't see it?

Dwight : No. I went out and got drunk with my laser tag team last night. Crap! (엉망이군) I never go out on a Thursday night. What the hell was I thinking?

---------------------------------------

Micheal : I don't understand... Hold on, sorry. (잠깐만, 미안해) Yes, Pam.

Pam : Michael, it's time for the suggestion box meeting.

Micheal : I'm kind of in the middle of something. (뭐 좀 한창 하고 있으니까) I wish you wouldn't interrupt. You told me to buzz you about the suggestion box meeting when Jan was here.

Micheal : I did not, not use those words.

Jan : I'd like to sit in on that meeting. (그 회의 참관하고 싶어요) Is it happening right now?

Micheal : No, it's in like, 10 minutes.

Pam : Everyone's waiting in the conference room.

Jan : Great, very good.

---------------------------------------

Micheal : Why are we here? Because I value your opinions. Now I know a lot of you don't think

that I read your suggestions. But I do. I just sift through them every week. (매주마다 면밀히 검토하지) And I really look and scrutinize, to see what you guys are writing. So let's just, uh, read some of these suckers, okay? Number one. "What should we do to prepare for Y2K?"

Dwight : "What should we do to prepare for Y2K?"

Kelly : I thought you read these every week?

Micheal : Well, obviously, this one got stuck in the box. (음 분명히 이건 상자안에 남겨져 있던 거였을거야) That happens occasionally.

Dwight : It happens occasionally. And, so... One down. (한가지는 끝났고) Next suggestion. "We need a better outreach for employees fighting depression." (우리는 불황과 싸우는 직원들을 위한 더 나은 빈곤 원조 계획이 필요하다) Okay, alright, enough with the jokes. (농담은 충분해) Nobody in here is suffering from depression.

Jan : That sounds serious Michael.

Micheal : Well, yeah. Who wrote it?

Dwight : Tom?

Micheal : Tom. Then it is a joke. (그럼 이건 농담이겠군) Because there is nobody in here named Tom.

Phylis : Tom? He worked in accounting up until about a year ago.

Micheal : Oh, that guy. That guy was weird. (그 친구 정말 이상했지) Alright, next suggestion.

Dwight : Next suggestion. Argh, badoo badoo.

Micheal : "You need to do something about your B.O."

Dwight : You need to do something about your B.O.

Micheal : Now, I don't know who this suggestion is meant for. (이 제안이 누구를 위한건지는 모르겠어) But it's more of a personal suggestion, (하지만 이건 좀 개인적인 제안이야) And it's not an office suggestion. And far be it from me to use this as a platform to embarrass anybody.

Tobby : Aren't the suggestions meant for you?

Micheal : Well, Tobby. If by me you are inferring that I have B.O., (만약 자네가 내가 몸냄새 난다고 결론 내리는 거라면) hen I would say that that is a very poor choice of words.

Creed : Micheal, he wasn't inferring, he was implying. You were inferring. (Michael, Tobby

Micheal : Was I, Creed? Okay, well, you know what I am implying, is that when we're on an elevator together, I should maybe take the stairs, because talk about stank. (우리가 엘리베이터에 함께 있을 때 난 아마도 계단으로 올라가야겠지) Not that I would ever say something like that in public, and I never have, and I never will, just think it's something that we should all be aware of. Now that we've learned this, let's continue. (이제 이 점을 알았으니 계속하지) See, this is good. We're learning, and we're figuring some stuff out. (그리고 몇몇가지 것들을 이해하고 있어) "You need to do something about your coffee breath."

Dwight : You need to do something about

Micheal : Shut up, shut up, shut up, Okay, I don't think you people are grasping, the concept of the suggestion box.

Angela : Sometimes you talk to us real close.

Micheal : Yeah? Is that hard for you? Alright, well...

Angela : Well, when you have coffee breath, it's hard,

Micheal : I'll work on that, okay. Let's keep, let's keep going. What do we have here? (여기 뭐가 있나) We have.. Somebody's piece of gum. (누군가의 껌이군) Somebody put a piece of gum in there. This is not a-a garbage can. This is the future of our company. This is not a place for gum, okay? I don't want to have to read these tomorrow...

Dwight : Yeah, who wants to come in on a Saturday?

Micheal : Yeah. What? Alright. Next suggestion.

Dwight : Next suggestion. "Don't sl-" Okay, that's blank.

Dwight : "Don't sleep with your boss?" Do you think this is referring to you boning Jan?

---------------------------------------

728x90

---------------------------------------

Jan : I can't, I can't. Alright, please sit down

Micheal : I don't understand why you're so upset.

Jan : I'm going to sit over here, you're going to sit over there.

Micheal : Let me ask you this.

Jan : Please sit yourself down.

Micheal : Let me ask you something.

Jan : What, Michael?

Micheal : Where did you get your outfit?

---------------------------------------

Dwight : You‘re going to give me this raise. (넌 임금인상 될거야) I deserve this raise. Yes! Yes! Yes! The least you can do is keep my salary consistent with inflation! Why are you going to give me this raise?! Why?! Because, I am awesome! I am awesome!

---------------------------------------

Micheal : I just don't understand, why you have to pretend like nothing happened.

Jan : Because nothing did Michael. (아무일도 일어나지 않았으니까요) It, I'm not going to say anything more about it. And I would advise that you do the same. (당신도 아무말 말라고 충고하겠어요) / M : Look.

Dwight : Michael? Oh my God. I'm sorry, am I interrupting. Oh God. Were you guys making out?

Jan : No, Dwight. Come in.

Dwight : Great.

Micheal : What do you want, Dwight?

Dwight : I am ready for my performance review.

Micheal : Okay. Great. Your performance has been adequate. (자네의 근무는 적절했네) You may leave. (가도 좋아) Good-bye.

Jan : Is this how you've been conducting all the reviews, Michael?

Micheal : You want to talk now? Good. Okay, Dwight, leave.

Dwight : Oh, wait. I would like to discuss my raise.

Micheal : Why on earth would we give you a raise?

Dwight : That is an excellent question. Thank you for asking. Let me bring up one word. I have never, been late. Also, I have never missed a day due to illness. Even when I had walking pneumonia. I even come in on holidays.

Micheal : You do? How do you get in?

Dwight : I have a copy of your key.

Jan : That's a serious offense.

Micheal : That is a serious offense. Very serious. As is toying with a man's heart.

Jan : Oh, Michael, for God sakes.

Dwight : I'd also further like to talk about my merits in the workplace. (추가적으로 업무에 있어 제 장점에 대해 이야기 하고 싶어요) Okay, third wheel, why don't you do that?

Dwight : For instance, the time brought in deer jerky for the whole office.

Micheal : That was deer? Gross.

Dwight : You liked it.

Micheal : Oh, god, Did not.

Dwight : Jan, have you ever had deer?

Jan : No

Dwight : It's a delicacy. And, you know what, it's an aphrodisiac. (일종의 최음제에요) So when we're done here, you guys could go over to the Antler Lodge, (그러니 여기 일 마치고 나면 Antler Lodge에 가는거에요) sample some deer, and talk about my raise.

Micheal : What do you say Jan? (뭐라고 할거야 Jan?)

Jan : Okay. Here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to step outside, collect my thoughts, and I will return in about 10 minutes.

Dwight : Okay, you just, clear your head.

Jan : Thank you Dwight.

---------------------------------------

Jan : I know it's your job. I know you have to ask. but I promise you, I'm not going to discuss it with him. I'm certainly not going to discuss it with you. (당신과도 이야기 하지 않을거구요) Do you have a light?

---------------------------------------

Dwight : And in conclusion, I think Lex Luther said it best, when he said, (결론적으로 Lex가 최고로 잘 표현했다고 생각해요) "Dad, you have no idea, what, I'm capable of."

Micheal : That's from Superman?

Dwight : Smallville. And that, is why I feel, I deserve this raise.

---------------------------------------

Pam : Do you think Michael and Jan actually...

Jim : I don't really want to picture it, but thank you, Pam.

Pam : How do you come back from that?

Jim : You don't (그럴 수 없지) I don't think, come all the way back, you know? (완전히 본연의 자세로 돌아오긴 힘들겠지) Especially working together.

Pam : No, I mean, doing that with Michael. (아니 내 말은, 점장님과 그걸 하고서 말이야) How do you come back from that, as a human being?

Jim : Oh, yeah. No. I don't think you can.

---------------------------------------

Jan : I'm heading back to New York. (나 뉴욕으로 돌아가요) Allan and I will conduct your performance review over the phone tomorrow. (Allan과 내가 내일 전화상으로 당신의 근무평가를 할게요) Okay, good?

Micheal : Wait, wait, wait... No, no, no. Come, I just, I just want to know why.

Jan : Michael, now is not the time or the place.

Micheal : Okay. So you're saying that there is, a different or place...

Jan : No.

Micheal : that we can have this discussion.

Jan : I am saying... We are never gonna have this conversation.

Micheal : Well, okay. Never as in never, ever, ever? Or never as in there's no chance?

Jan : Never for me always means never, ever, ever.

Micheal : From the horse's mouth, (가장 확실하게 당신으로부터 듣고 싶어) what is the deal-io?

Jan : You know Michael.

Micheal : Am I too short?

Jan : Michael! It has nothing to do with your looks, okay? (당신의 외모와는 관계 없어요) It's your, it's your personality. (당신의 인격 문제에요) I mean you're obnoxious, and rude. (불쾌하고 무례해요) And-and-and stupid. And you do have coffee breath by the way. And-and, I don't agree about the B.O. (그리고 난 당신 몸냄새 없다고 생각해요) But you are very, very, inconsiderate.

Micheal : Really?

Jan : Really. You're-you're-you're... You're a great guy, okay?

Micheal : I appreciate that, thank you.

Jan : You were very sweet. (당신은 정말 달콤했어요) And you stayed up with me and talked to me, and cried with me and I appreciate that.

Micheal : No, i wasn't, I wasn't crying.

Jan : But I am just not in the place right now where I'm looking for a relationship. (하지만 난 연인관계를 찾을 적절한 장소에 있지 않군요) So, we can still work together, We can still be friends, but... Okay?

Micheal : So my looks have nothing to do with it.

---------------------------------------

Micheal : Jan is not in a place where she feels, she can have a relationship right now. And it doesn't matter how great a guy I am. (제가 얼마나 잘났는지가 문제가 되지 않아요) And that is all I needed. (그게 제가 알고 싶었던 거에요) I'm good. I can go home now.

---------------------------------------

Micheal : Hey! It's 12:20. Where the hell is Dwight?

Jim : No idea.

Micheal : Never missed a day my ass.

Dwight : I'm here ! I'm here! I'm here ! It's okay !
