The office

2x03 Office Olympics

Micheal : I'm an early bird, and I'm a night owl, so I'm wise, and I have worms. (그리고 벌레를 먹죠) So.. oh breakfast

Ryan : I got your sausage, egg and cheese biscuit.

Micheal  : Yummy yummy? (맛있겠는걸?) thank you Ryan.

Ryan : What was the thing you needed me to come in early for?

Micheal  : The sausage, egg and cheese biscuit. (소시지, 달걀, 비스킷 때문에) But thank you, and why don't you just take a couple hours, (몇 시간동안 즐기는 게 어떤가) office is yours, home alone, (나 홀로 사무실에) risky business. Take your pants off, run around. (바지 벗고 사방팔방 뛰어다니라고) Whatever you wanna do?

Ryan : I'm just gonna take a nap in my car until work starts.

Micheal  : Healtheir, (몸에 더 좋아요) gotta watch those carbs.

---------------------------------------

Micheal  : Today I, Michael Scott, am becoming an home-owner. Investing in real estate.

Dwight : Diversifying, smart?

Micheal  : Yes it is. Yes it is. It is very important to own a property. Back in olden days, (옛날에는) they would not even let you vote, (투표권도 가질 수 없었어요) unless you own a property and they threw you in the stacks, (안그러면 건초더미로 던져버리고) and then humiliate you.

Dwight : And it worked?

Micheal  : Yes.

Dwight : They should bring the stocks back (건초는 다시 돌려줘야 하고요) people would obey the law, there'd be less trouble makers.

Micheal  : Maybe?

---------------------------------------

Pam : Every so often, Jim dies of boredom. (정말 자주 Jim은 지겨워서 죽으려고 해요) I think today it was the expense reports that did him in. (오늘은 지출내역서가 Jim을 지겹게 만든 거 같아요) And our deal is, that it's up to me to revive him.

---------------------------------------

Pam : You see Dwight's coffee mug? Sometimes when he's not here, I try to throw stuff in it.

Jim : No way? (말도 안돼) Let's do this?

Pam : Here, try paper-clips. (여기 종이클립으로 해봐) Oh wait, this message, for Dwight.

---------------------------------------

Micheal  : You should go. (가야만 해요) Yes, yes, final walkthrough. (그래, 그래, 마지막 관문입니다) Sign the papers at the condo.

Dwight : You'll have your lawyer there?

Micheal  : I don't need one.

Dwight : Can I be your representative?

Micheal  : I don't need repr...

Dwight : I think I should be there.

Micheal  : No, no.

Dwight : No I'm good I can make sure things are up to code.

Micheal  : No, Dwight.

Dwight : Please, am I not always the guy that you rely on at work ?

Micheal  : Well, this isn't about work. This is closing on a condo, (이건 콘도 계약을 마무리 짓는거야) it's completely personal.

Dwight : So you're taking a personal day?

Micheal  : Except that, (그것만 빼면) it's about my living arrangement, (이건 내 먹고사는 일에 관한 문제야) and as boss, I need to have a living arrangement, in order to do work.

Dwight : Please, I'll make you proud.

Micheal  : Ok fine, yes you can come.

Dwight : Yes, as your representative?

Micheal  : As my associate.

Dwight : Same thing.

Micheal  : No it is not?

---------------------------------------

Dwight : I have been Michael's number 2 guy for about five years, and we make a great team. We're like one of those classic famous teams, (클래식으로 유명한 그 한 쌍 같아요) he's like Mozart and I'm like, Mozart's friend. No, I'm like Butch Cassidy, and Michael is like Mozart. You try and hurt Mozart, (누가 모차르트를 해치려 한다면) you're gonna get a bullet in your head, (머리에 총알이 박힐 겁니다) courtesy of Butch Cassidy. (Butch Cassidy의 이름으로)

---------------------------------------

Micheal  : Ah, most honorable Pamera (오 위대하신 Pamera) not offensive because that's the way they talk in movies.

Pam : You headed out?

Micheal  : We are, (그래) Dwight and I are headed to a big thing (Dwhight와 나는 큰 일을 앞두고 있다네) why don't you have everybody work on their expense reports and I'd like them in by the end of the day.

Pam : Ok.

Micheal  : Very good.

Pam : Have a great time?

Micheal  : We will. Um did you do the thing I asked you about the magazines?

Pam : Yeah I changed them to your new address. (,

Micheal  : Good, the Small Businessman?

Pam : Yep.

Micheal  : Maxim? American Way? Cracked ?

Pam : Yes, I changed your Cracked magazine subscription.

Micheal  : How about Fine Arts? Aficionado Monthly? No? Ok well could you get on that? 그것도 해줄 수 있겠나?) cause I don't just read Cracked. (Cracked만 읽는게 아니거든) Thank you. Ok, see you soon.

---------------------------------------

Dwight : What kind of shocks you've got on this baby?

Micheal  : I don't know, regular, normal ones? Nothing fancy. 사치스러운건 아니네) Not my style. What are you doing?

Dwight : I wanna put the top down.

Micheal  : Dwight it's 10 outside don't, please (Dwight

Dwight : But then no one could see us.

Micheal  : I.. just.. would you.. put it up? (.. Ok, fine. Just leave it down. whiner?

Dwight : Check it out. (이거 보세요) I'm terminator.

Micheal  : I do not understand what you spend your money on?

---------------------------------------

Jim : Hey Oscar, on these new expense reports do we really have to go back to last quarter?

Oscar : Yeah, it's a terrible system I know.

Jim : What is 2005 Season here? Wait a minute what is this?

Oscar : It's a score board.

Jim : What?

Oscar : Kevin and I play this paper football game when Michael's out.

Jim : Really?

Oscar : Or when we are bored.

Jim : Oh my god? Wait this goes back 2 years?

Kevin : We are bored a lot.

Jim : Ow?

Kevin : Sweet?

Jim : Yes, so close. (거의 넣을 뻔 했는데) I really love the paper triangle flicking and hitting things game.

Kevin : Yeah, we call it Hate Ball.

Jim : Why?

Kevin : Because of how much Angela hates it.

Jim : Hey do you guys have many other games?

Kevin : Sometimes we play "Who can put the most M&M's in their mouth?"

Oscar : You play that. (너나 하는거지) You should ask Tobby to teach you Dunder Ball.

---------------------------------------

Micheal : Home Sweet Home.

Dwight : Which one's yours?

Micheal : Right there. (바로 저기) My sanctuary. (나의 신전) My party pad. (나의 연회장) Someday I can just see my grandkids learning how to walk out here. Hang on and swing from this tree, (이 나무에서 그네를 타면) pushing back... Wait, no it's this one, right here.

---------------------------------------

Jim : So that's what this sound is all day?

---------------------------------------

? : Michael this is Bill he's the head of the condo association.

Micheal : Hey how are you? Nice to meet you Bill. Bill, mister Bill, oh nooo, mister Bill. S&L? When they pull him apart. (SNL에서 사람들이 Bill을 잡아 뜯을때요) You could always get rolled over by something.

Bill : Ni.. nice to meet you..

Micheal : Nice to meet you too.

Dwight : This is smaller than your old place.

Micheal : Yes, well I'm buying it and I'm not renting it. So it's still an upgrade.

---------------------------------------

Dwight : He doesn't know anything about property ownership. He's kind of an idiot. Actually, I do own property. My grandfather left me a sixty acre working beet farm. I run it with my cousin Mose. We sell beets to local stores and restaurants, it's a nice old farm. Sometimes teenagers use it for sex.

---------------------------------------

? : Are we ready to sign some papers?

Dwight : Actually no. We have a couple of questions, about the neighborhood?

B : It's very safe, it's very clean, also it's very accepting of all life styles.

? : It's a very gay friendly neighborhood.

Micheal : Oh good, that's good. Yeah. It's good to be accommodating of that.

Dwight : Let's go check out the master bedroom.

---------------------------------------

Jim : Stanley, I just played Dunder Ball with Toby, What about you? You got any games? (Stanley

Stanley : Yeah, I got a game, it's called work hard so my kids can go to college.

Jim : Fair enough.

---------------------------------------

Micheal : This, my friends, is the master bedroom? Check out the cathedral's ceilings, (이 성당같은 천장을 보세요) those are like 17 feet high, we have cable readiness right there. (바로 여기 케이블선도 준비되어 있고요) I am going to totally pimp this place out. (여길 아주 끝내주는 곳으로 만들거에요) I am going to put a surround sound system, I am going to put a plasma screen right against this wall...

Dwight : owww terrible idea (끔찍한 생각이에요)

Micheal : I'm pulling my bed right over here

Dwight : No... This is a shared wall, (이건 연결된 벽이에요) Neighbor threw his wife into the wall, (이웃 남자가 부인을 이 벽으로 던지면) Plasma screen hits the floor, totally smashed.

Micheal : Well then I will get a warranty,

Dwight : Warranties don't cover it, (이런건 포함 안돼요) plus they're a rip off.

Micheal : Well I won't get a warranty, There's the problem, it's solved.

Dwight : Listen, listen, can you hear that? Oh man, these babies are thin?

---------------------------------------

Pam : Games of the 1st Dunder Mifflin Olympiad

Jim : This scented candle, which I found in the men's bathroom, represents the eternal... burning of competition..

Kevin : It smells like cookies.

Jim : Yes it does, yes it does my friend. Ok we will be competing for gold, silver and bronze yogurt lids.

Pam : Now the bronze are really blue, and they're also the backside of the gold, (그리고 뒷면은 금색이에요) so no flipping ok? honor system.

---------------------------------------

Angela : I do play games, (물론 저도 게임을 하죠) I sing, and I dangle things in front of my cats. (우리 고양이 앞에서 물건을 흔들어요) I play lots of games, just not at work.

---------------------------------------

Jim : Let the games begin?

---------------------------------------

? : And then I just need you to sign here at this ara (그리고 이 부분에 서명을 해주세요) What kind of mortgage did you get?

Micheal : 10 year.

? : Well, 10 over 30, so 30 year total.

Micheal : What? wha... you said 10

? : 10 year fixed, over 30, 30 year total (30

Dwight : Ow 30 years?

Micheal : Ok, ok.

Dwight : Wow you'll be paying this off in your mid-seventies. Forget about retiring when you're 65 (65세에 퇴직하는 건 꿈 깨셔야겠어요) Hey I have an idea, you know that extra bedroom, if the all girlfriend thing never happens, that's where the nurse can live.

Micheal : Ok, all right. Well this is it.

? : Whenever you're ready.

Micheal : Yeah, huh, okay, Is that supposed to come off? Actually yeah. Hey look cool? carpenter ends. (목공 마감이요) I'm gonna take a little breather for a second. (나 잠깐 숨 좀 돌려야겠어) Excuse me.

Dwight : We'll be here waiting for you.

---------------------------------------

Dwight : Oh man? A 30 year mortgage at Michael's age, essentially means that he's buying a coffin. (지점장님 나이에 30년짜리 융자라는 건 관을 산다는 말과 마찬가지입니다) If I were buying my coffin, I would get one with thicker walls, so you couldn't hear other dead people.

---------------------------------------

? : Whenever you're ready Michael?

---------------------------------------

Jim : You have what is the national sport of Icelandic paper companies, (지금 보시는 것은 아이슬랜드 종이 회사들이 전국적으로 즐기는 스포츠입니다) and I'm blanking on the name... (이름이 기억 안나는데..) could you help me out Pam?

Pam : Jim, they refer to it as Flonkerton, in English "box of papers snowshoe racing."

Jim : Fair enough, but I like Flonkerton.

---------------------------------------

Pam : The thing about Jim is, (Jim의 특징은) when he's excited about something like the office Olympics, he gets really into it and he does a really great job, but the problem with Jim is that he works here so that hardly ever happens.

---------------------------------------

Jim : So, who will be challenging Kevin in flankerton? Anyone?

Phylls : I'll do it.

Jim : Yes Phyllis. Phyllis, you just put your foot right trough here, (발을 여기에 끼우시고요) right trough the flank. (flank에 끼우세요)

---------------------------------------

Micheal : The ceilings are lower than they were last week, that, I don't, I don't know if you showed me the same unit or not?

? : Michael this is the unit you saw and...

Micheal : Where are all the hot people? I was told that there would be all these attractive singles,

? : Who told you that?

Micheal : And as far as I can I tell, (제가 말씀드릴 수 있는 건) I'm the best looking person here.

---------------------------------------

Micheal : There's a basic principle, in real estate, that you should never be the best looking person in the development. (소유주가 개발지역에서 제일 잘생긴 사람이면 안됩니다) It's sort of a common sense, because if you are, then you'll get no place to go but down.

---------------------------------------

? : Is this a financial thing? (재정적인 문제 때문인가요?) if it's a financial thing what some people do is they rent out the third bedroom.

Micheal : No, no...

? : That's an extra income for you...

Micheal : I am not going to rent the third bedroom, I want a price reduction or I am walking.

? : You will lose 7000$ if you walk away right now.

---------------------------------------

Micheal : I made the right decision. (난 옳은 경정을 내린거야) I'm glad I signed, (계약해서 기쁘다고) I'm a home-owner, right? Good to be a home-owner, (내 집 장만하는 건 좋은 일이지) diversifying, this is good. This is fun, we're having fun?

Dwight : Totally having fun? (좋고 말고요) Can you imagine those poor saps stuck at the office today?

---------------------------------------

Pam : It's Phyllis? (Phylis

Jim : Phyllis by a nose gold-medal in flunenton, (Phylis

Pam : flunkerton?

Jim : Thank you? Delegate from Iceland.

---------------------------------------

Jim : Wow, ok no one else should even try, gold medals.

---------------------------------------

Micheal : There's something else Dwight, (하나 더 남았네 Dwight) I want to talk to you about. (자네한테 할 말이 있는데) I have a surprise for you, for helping me out today.

Dwight : Ow you don't have to d.. (,

Micheal : No, no I insist, I insist, (아니야 꼭 말해야겠어) because you've really done some great work, great work? (자네가 정말 훌륭한 일을 해줬으니까) And that is why I am going to let you move in to my third bedroom, (남는 방에 자네가 이사올 수 있도록 해주겠네) and pay me rent.

---------------------------------------

Micheal : Why did I do it? Because I believe in rewarding people for their efforts, (사람들이 노력한 일엔 보상을 해줘야 한다고 믿기 때문에) I rewarded Dwight with the room, and he is rewarding me back with 500 $ plus utilities.

---------------------------------------

Dwight : I don't even know what to say..

Micheal : I'm thinking, lock into a 4 year commitment, (4년치를 미리 내는 거라고 생각하고 있는데) we'll go month to month after that, (그 다음엔 매달 내도 돼) or until I start dating, have a girlfriend and then you're.. 그 다음엔..) you know, you're gone. So..

Dwight : Question? where can I put my terrarium?

Micheal : What the hell is a terrarium?

Dwight : It's a fish tank for snakes and lizards.

Micheal : Oh, so an aquarium. (그러니까 수족관이군) That will not come into this place ok?

Dwight : Question? my grandparents left me a large number of armoires.

---------------------------------------

Pam : Are you sure you don't wanna play?

Angela : I'm sure.

Pam : Come on Angela don't you have a game?

Angela : I have one yes.

Pam : Well, let's play what is it?

Angela : I call it Pam-Pong, I count how many times Jim gets up from his desk and goes to reception to talk to you.

Pam : We're friends.

Angela : Apparently.

Jim : Very nicely done. (정말 잘하셨어요) Ok so I think that's a HOR for Stanley, (Stanley는 국내 신기록이고요) and HO for Phyllis. (Phylis는 기록입니다)

Phylis : Are you calling me a ho?

Jim : Oh my god, Phyllis coming alive, I like it. (Phylis

---------------------------------------

Dwight : Question? what about carpooling? Who pays for the gas?

Micheal : We take separate cars.

Dwight : and question can sometimes I drive you car and you drive mine?

Micheal : Why would we do that?

Dwight : Just for fun.

Micheal : No.

Dwight : Question? who's the primary in the fire insurance?

Micheal : HEP... GAME OVER? Offer revoked Dwight. (제안 무효네 Dwight) I'm sorry, but you reach out, and you try to be a nice guy, (난 손을 내밀어서 좋은 놈이 되어보려고) and help out a friend, and this is what happens. (이런식으로 나오는군) This is what I get. God, I'm... ok.

---------------------------------------

Dwight : Thank god? (정말 다행이에요) It was nice of him to offer, (제안해주신 건 고마웠지만) but I live in a nine bedroom farmhouse. I have my own crossbow range, (제 석궁 연습장도 있고요) it's a perfect situation for me. Well look 2 bathrooms would have been nice, (뭐 화장실이 두 개인건 괜찮아 보이더군요) we just have but one. And it's under the porch.

---------------------------------------

Jim : Who had someone from Vance Refrigeration (누가 Vance 냉동산업에서 손님을 데려왔나요) Ryan Howard? Ryan, gold medal.

---------------------------------------

Jim : What's up?

Pam : I made something, For a closing ceremony.

Jim : What? Oh my god? When did you have time to make that?

Pam : Automatic voice-mail.

Jim : All right Pam, all right. Nice work.

---------------------------------------

Dwight : You know you can always refinance your mortgage. (융자금은 언제나 갚을 수 있다는거 아시죠) We had a 15 year on our beet farm, (저희 사탕무 농장은 15년짜리 계약이었는데요) we headed off early.

Micheal : Yeah, well you know what nobody cares about your stupid beet farm. Beets are the worst?

Dwight : People loved beets?

Micheal : Nobody likes beets.

Dwight : Everyone loves beets.

Micheal : Nobody likes beets Dwight. Why don't you grow something that everybody does like? You should grow candy. I'd love a piece of candy right now, (지금 당장 사탕 하나 먹었으면 좋겠죠) not a beet.

Dwight : Let's get this roof com...

Micheal : Stop it?

---------------------------------------

Jim : Final lap, final lap. Oscar? Time to beat is 1'15, (115초 기록을 깨야 합니다) time to beat is 1 minute 15 seconds? Here they come?

Dwight : What is going on?

Jim : Nothing. Guys, time is still going, or...

Dwight : That's my stopwatch.

Jim : There you go, all done.

---------------------------------------

Jim : Yeah, I filled out these expense reports.

Oscar : Great.

---------------------------------------

Jim : That take about 5 minutes (5분 정도 걸렸죠and then I close 2 sales at lunchtime. About as productive as any other day, (다른 날만큼 생산적이었죠) if not more so...

---------------------------------------

Ryan : I figured I could throw it away now, (전 버려도 된다고 생각했어요) or I could keep it, (아니면 간직할수도 있었겠죠) for a couple of months (앞으로 몇 달 동안요) and then throw it away. I mean it was really nice at Pam to make them, but... what am I gonna do with a gold medal made of paperclips and an old yogurt lid?

---------------------------------------

Jim : Hey?

Pam : I have 59 voice mails.

Jim : Hey can you ignore those and do something for me instead?

Pam : Sure.

Jim : Ok. Today, at 5 o'clock, closing ceremonies.

Pam : Really?

Jim : Notify the athletes. Michael?

Micheal : Yep. Jim, slim Jim. (그래, Jim, 잔머리 Jim) What's going.. what's going on?

Jim : Nothing I just want to congratulate you on your condo.

Micheal : Oh thanks, thanks very cool, it's a 3 bedroom gay-friendly, (3개에 동성애자 환영이라네) / J : Nice, / M : You know..

Jim : Hey would you mind coming out here for a second? I have something for you.

Micheal : Really? What's this?

Jim : These are the closing ceremonies, step up? (올라가세요) Here on the top one.

Jim : Congratulations to Michael, because he closed on his condo, (콘도계약을 끝내셨으므로) so gold medal?

Micheal : I don't really know what to say, (정말 무슨 말을 해야할지 모르겠군) I'm not one for making speeches, but... (난 수상소감 같은거 말하는 사람은 아니지만) My heart is very full at this moment.

Jim : And for Dwight Schrute the silver medal.

Micheal : Get on up here Dwight?

Dwight : Silver medal.

Micheal : Yep, but not as good as gold? 금메달만큼 좋은 건 아니야) Why are you playing the national hymn?

Jim : Cause your condo is in America.

Micheal : Oh. What the hell is that?

Jim : Those are the doves.
